Taylorville once had three railroads, including mainlines of the Wabash Railroad and the Chicago & Illinois Midland Railway (C&IM); as well as a branch line of the Baltimore & Ohio Southwestern Railroad (B&OSW). Today, the former B&OSW and C&IM are abandoned, while the Wabash is owned by Norfolk Southern Railway.
