Winfield once had a number of railroad lines, operated by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway, the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway (Frisco). Today, BNSF Railway and the South Kansas & Oklahoma operate the remaining ATSF lines, while the MP and Frisco lines have been abandoned.
