Chaska once had three railroad lines, including the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railway mainline, and both a mainline and branch line of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway. Today, the Twin Cities & Western Railroad operates the former Milwaukee Road mainline, while the other lines are mainly abandoned.
