Stillwater once had three railroads, including a Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis & Omaha Railway (Omaha Road) mainline, a Soo Line mainline, and a Northern Pacific Railway branch line. Today, the Omaha Road is owned by Union Pacific Railroad, while the Soo Line is owned by Canadian National Railway. The NP is now part of a trail.
