North Aurora once had a number of railroad lines, including a branch line of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q), a Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW) branch line and a streetcar line of the Aurora, Elgin and Fox River Electric Company (AE&FRE). Today, BNSF Railway operates the CB&Q branch line, while the C&NW line has been converted to a trail.
