Minooka once had three railroads, including a Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad (Rock Island) mainline, an Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway (EJ&E) branch line and an interurban line. Today, the Rock Island is owned by CSX, while the EJ&E is owned by Canadian National Railway. The interurban line has been abandoned.
