Maywood once had three railroads, including a Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW) mainline, a Chicago Great Western Railway (CGW) mainline and the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin Railroad (CA&E). Today, the C&NW is owned by Union Pacific Railroad, while the remaining railroads have been converted to trails.
