Glencoe once had a Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW) mainline and a Chicago, North Shore & Milwaukee Railroad (CNS&M) line. Today, the C&NW is owned by Union Pacific Railroad; while the CNS&M has been abandoned and converted to a trail.
