Geneva once had a number of railroads, including a mainline and two branch lines of the Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW), a branch of the Chicago, Aurora & Elgin Railroad (CA&E), and a streetcar line of the Aurora, Elgin & Fox River Electric Company (AE&FRE). Today, the C&NW mainline is owned by Union Pacific Railroad, while the C&NW branch lines and the CA&E have become part of trails.
