Fulton once had a number of railroads, including a Chicago & North Western Railway (C&NW) mainline, a Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad (CB&Q) mainline and a Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road) mainline. Today, the C&NW is owned by Union Pacific Railroad, and the CB&Q is owned by BNSF Railway. The former Milwaukee Road has been abandoned.
