A brief history of the Union Pacific Mankato and Worthington Subdivisions:

02/25/23

Located just south of Alton, this steel stringer bridge crosses a small drainage ditch alongside 3rd Avenue.
Built in 1910, the bridge consists of a single steel stringer span, set onto concrete substructures. The beams on this bridge are arranged in two sets of three, for six total beams.
The only major repair to the bridge appears to be the bearing blocks, which have been replaced with wooden blocks. This type of bridge is common along this route for crossing streams.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition, with little notable deterioration.

The author has ranked the bridge as being minimally significant, due to the common design.
