This standard I-Beam bridge crosses Summit Street in the northern part of Marshalltown.
Built in 1931, the bridge features a pair of I-Beam spans, set onto concrete substructures.
It is unknown why a second I-Beam span was added, but it may indicate there was once a desire to widen the road.
Overall, the bridge appears to be in good condition. The bridge was repaired and fencing added in approximately 2017. It now carries the Iowa River Rail Trail.
The author has ranked this bridge as being locally significant, due to the common design.
