La Crescent had three railroads. The Milwaukee Road Mainline extended along the Mississippi River, before crossing it into La Crosse. Heading south then, a second mainline heads south towards Kansas City.
A third mainline went west towards Lanesboro and Austin. The first and second lines are now owned by Canadian Pacific, while the third is abandoned.
