Hancock, Iowa

Hancock and Avoca are small towns in West Central Iowa, northeast of Council Bluffs. The Rock Island built a branch and a mainline through the town, the branch which has since been abandoned.

However, the original mainline at Avoca was relocated in 1953 to go through Hancock. The original line at Avoca was abandoned soon after.
The relocated line is now owned by Iowa Interstate.
