This large three span Pratt Through Truss bridge crossed the Grand River near the town of Snyder.
Built in 1910 as part of a double tracking project, the bridge once featured pinned connections and 7-panel spans.
This design of truss was common along the Santa Fe double tracked mainlines. It rested on concrete substructures.
Unfortunately, the bridge was replaced in the Fall of 2017. The replacement project is likely the first of many trusses along this route. It is believed this bridge was in a deteriorated condition at the time of replacement.
The new bridge also utilizes a through truss design, with riveted warren through truss designs.
The author has ranked this bridge as being moderately significant, due to the truss design.
